Description: The Networked Systems research group, led by Prof. Antonio Pietrabissa, aims at applying control methodologies in the context of space-related applications, such as satellite communication networks along with their interaction with terrestrial (wired and wireless) ones, satellite launchers, sensor networks for planetary explorations. The applied control methodologies range from classical feedback control of time-delay systems for admission control problems and non-cooperative control for load balancing and routing problems to deep reinforcement solutions.

Collaborations: The Space Research Group participated in several National and European projects and cooperates with researchers from national and international academia and industries. Among other collaborations, in the last years the group’s members are working with Arianne Group (France), CEA (Commissariat à l’énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives), which is the French research organisation in the areas of energy, security, information technologies and health technologies, ETRI (Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute), which is the most important research institute in South Korea, Fraunhofer Germany, which is the largest research organization for applied researches in Europe, Tekever (Portugal), the satellite manufacturers Thales Alenia Space France and Thales Alenia Space Italy, the satellite service provider Telespazio (Italy). See the group’s projects for further information.
